In this article, our primary focus is to let everyone know that you have what it takes to keep going. Here are the guidelines to follow:

Avoid The Rush

As already mentioned above, it is entirely okay to take things slow. Do not keep on rushing the process because it will only add unnecessary pressure on your part. When this happens, there is a high chance or possibility that you will lose the will to continue with the process of finishing your book. The stress associated with the pressure can make you think of quitting. Because of all these, it is best if you will take all the time you need instead of rushing things. “The sensation of pressure doesn’t have to be negative—it can be a positive challenge and motivating.” A reminder from Alicia H. Clark, Psy.D.

Open Up With A Loved One

According to Ben Martin, Psy.D. “Having few or no supportive relationships can increase the risk of depression in both men and women.” During the times when you start to doubt yourself, do not have second thoughts in expressing what you feel to the people who are close to your heart. Keep in mind that these individuals will love you for who you are and not what you have. Do not be afraid to talk or open up to them so that you can start to let go of what is holding you back. A simple conversation with someone who matters in your life can already make a significant difference in your career path.

Talk To An Expert

Learn to recognize the best people in the book industry and make an effort to connect with these individuals. However, make sure that you will not harass them because doing so can put you in a whole lot of trouble. What is important is to connect with the said expert by knowing about his works and asking questions. First, you have to admit or acknowledge to yourself that you do not have it all. Sometimes, it is crucial to connect with other professionals who can let you know how you can improve in your chosen field. It is also recommended to check the credentials of the people and organization involved. Of course, you must only believe the words and advice of those who have established their official status and authenticity.

Go On Vacation

Admit to yourself that there are stressful days when all you want to do is to run away from your obligation from the publishing company. Do not feel bad whenever you feel exhausted because it is only normal for an author. All you must do is to go on a quick vacation for the sole purpose of refreshing your mind. “Vacations are coping mechanisms that help us adapt to the everyday stresses in our lives.” John Mayer, PhD explains. Therefore, give yourself a chance to chill so that you can regain all your energy in completing what you have started. Vacation can include an instant road trip with someone you care about or a long-weekend trip to a neighboring town. The choice depends on your personal preference.

Do all the things mentioned above to motivate you.
